Megan Smythe

Megan Smythe is primarily a ceramic artist. He work deals with the human form.

Her work however often times is distorted and mangled.

She uses glazes in interesting ways to make it seem like the flesh is melting off her figures.

The proportions of the figures are warped to make the figure look ravaged by disease or malnourishment.

Some of her work is an amalgamation of several body parts lumped together in a heap to make the piece look like a massacre.

By using clay she is able to capture a fluidity to the structure of the skeleton that is otherwordly.
